Hello everyone, I've just joined the forum and hoping you might be able to help me
I've been building a website for my business in WordPress and I'm now working on the SEO part of the development. My business name is quite unique and unusual. Let's assume its called, 'Xyz Limited'. We also use a slogan to help market our business. Let's assume the slogan is, 'Live life to the full', which I have also registered the domain for. My business is in the field of training; mainly for young people who are looking to gain skills to prepare them for employment.
The SEO part has baffled me a bit, so I read up some different blogs, postings and books about the subject. I understand that the best plugin to use in WordPress is Yoast, but this baffled me a bit as well as this seems to work on keyphrases rather than keywords - contrary to what all the books/articles I've read talk about. I understand the difference, that's no problem, it just took me a while to get my head around...
My question is this: when it comes to getting the best results from organic searches, should I optimise my pages based on my business (name), the services it provides (training) and/or the slogan we use (live life to the full)?
The domain I registered for the slogan will act purely as a web referral (or a redirect I believe the correct term is?), so it is not an actual website. How do I optimise just a domain name so that the slogan and its URL can be ranked in search results? Or do I have to create a landing page for this domain in order for the SEO to work?
I hope I've explained that clearly enough, and apologies if I've not used any of the correct terms
you can probably tell I am new to this, but really keen to learn as much as I can to help my business
Thank you everyone!
